Griffin community –

Today concludes this last full week of school year 2024-25. On behalf of the entire SES faculty and staff, Dr, T and I want to express our sincere gratitude to all of you, the Griffin community. Your support and partnership have been invaluable. All of the faculty and staff, volunteers, substitutes, PTA, and community partners are more than individual and separate resources, you are part of a recipe for student success. You are part of the solution.  You are the future.  You are family. Thank you to our students for all their hard work and dedication this year! It's been a joy as educators watching them all grow and achieve so much. Congratulations to our 5th Grade neighborhood for completing the elementary chapter of their life’s journey and middle school, you better watch out, the Griffins are coming! Remember to rest and recharge over the summer. We look forward to seeing many of you back in August, ready for a great new year, and wish all those onto new adventures the best of luck.  Celebrating the end of year and wishing them on their way we will have a "clap out" on Tuesday the 10th at 11AM (Please consider parking on the PX or Bowling alley)

Exciting Things Happening at SES!!!

Clubs

We have been so lucky this year with a variety of clubs, everything from a new musical club which put on a wonderful performance of 'Cookies the Musical', through to Harry Potter, STEAM Clubs, Drums, and many more.  School clubs are important because they offer numerous benefits for students, including skill development, fostering leadership and teamwork, enhancing academic performance, and building a sense of community. They provide opportunities to explore interests, make friends, and develop valuable life skills that extend beyond the classroom. How does your garden grow? Did you know that the gardening/makers space club this year had great success growing all sorts of wonderful things.  Gardening has also been encouraged through the all the grades at our school not just within the club.  Life's a garden, DIG IT!

Celebrating 5th Grade

Congratulations to 5th Grade! What a celebration organized by the PTA and volunteers.  The weather held off and there was fun had by all with lots of great outdoor activities and snacks. This is a big step, and it's okay to feel a mix of excitement and maybe a little nervousness. Middle school is a new adventure with new opportunities for friendships, learning, and finding yourself. Remember to be open to new things, stay organized, and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. You've got this!

Talent Show

Our kids sparkled and shined at our annual SES talent show.  Our school talent show continues to be a great way to showcase our students, build their confidence, and bring our community together. It was a fun-filled event that all of the grades got to watch.  The students practiced every week leading up to the Talent Show, and they had lots of help from volunteers.  Thank you to all!  What a way to wrap up the year.

SCHOOL RE-REGISTRATION

Re-registration began this week. Parents must
submit a re-registration to indicate whether each
student is staying in DoDEA or leaving their current
location. Parents should log into the DoDEA Student

The Parent Post (PTA)

Please join us for our clap out! It's a wonderful school tradition where the community (students, teachers, and parents) line up outside the school entrance to applaud and celebrate students who are moving on to the next grade level, or marking a significant milestone like their last day of elementary school. It's a way to recognize their achievements and send them off with support and encouragement. We will be lining up before the 11AM school finish.

(Please consider parking on the PX or Bowling Alley.  Please do not leave your car unattended in the pick up lane, double park or park in the disabled spots)

We wrapped up this last full week of school with a free book for every student!  Our BOOK IT INTO SUMMER! 'Book Fair' style event gave each student the opportunity to select a new book to kick-off their summer reading.  Students attended the fair during the school day and were able to chose from a wide variety of grade appropriate books.  One of the PTA's objectives is to provide educational & fun opportunities.
