During May we have had so many wonderful field trips. Whether it has been to the zoo, science centers, bowling, fossil digs or many others, the students have been spreading their wings from the classroom to real life experiences. What do you remember from school? What caused you to be who you are today? Chances are, a group project, a special speaker, or a field trip helped you decide. Every student comes to the classroom with a different world experience. Field trips are important in elementary school because they provide students with experiential learning opportunities that can make classroom concepts more engaging and memorable. They foster critical thinking, broaden horizons, and develop social skills, connecting classroom learning to real world scenarios and experiences.

Kindergarten at Wilhema Zoo
It's definitely become a tradition to visit Wilhelma Zoo, and why not? What an amazing place! The sun was shining and all of the kinder got lollies and ice cream. It's not just a zoo, there are places to climb, explore and have fun too! Let's not forget the aquarium, very popular with the children.
What a day!

2nd Grade Fossil Dig
Fossil digs are so engaging and educational for children, sparking curiosity about science, history, and the natural world. They provide hands-on learning opportunities, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of the Earth's past. The 2nd grade students had so much fun during their fossil dig, who knows maybe theres a future paleontologist amongst them, or many are inspired for careers in science. Jurassic Park here we come!
