At the start of this academic year, we made a promise to serve all families and the community to the very best of our abilities.  It feels like we are already coming to the end of the school year, next week is May, but we still have so much happening ...Â
3rd, 4th and 5th grade testing
School Field Day, SES Talent Show, Awards Assembly'sÂ
To name but a few.Â
May can be a challenging time, with families PCS'ing , and the close of the year on the horizon. However, let's work together, and keep our focus on closing out the year strong, lots of LEARNING and fun still to be had.
Thank you

Exciting Things Happening at SES!!!

Author Visit
What a month it's been! SES had a visit from a wonderful author. Cari Meister.
From a young age, Cari made up stories. One of her favorite places to make up stories was on her grandpa and grandma's farm in southern Minnesota. There, she would find a quiet little spot in the corn field, or on a swing and let her imagination wander.Â
During her visit Cari had hands on activities organized and great information for the students. We already had some of her books in our library, but our SES PTA not only arranged the visit but purchased more of her books for the library and for the school book vending machine too.
The children really enjoyed this activity
Lunch with a Loved one
Hooray! The rain stayed at bay so that the students could enjoy lunch with their loved ones. Thank you to all of those that were able to join and share in this experience, we saw groups of friends together, entire families, guardians and children ...  just a great turn out, and he best part of it all was the smiles on everyone's faces.

Their dedication and commitment to our school are truly appreciated, and we are so lucky to have such a supportive and active PTA. We look forward to celebrating you all at the Volunteer Celebration.

Month of the Military Child Post Cards
In honor of the Month of the Military Child, students will be bringing home a special postcard this week, a small gift to help them connect with someone important in their lives.
If your child would like to send their postcard, simply have them drop the completed, addressed card in the Dandelion Express mailbox (inside the school entrance) by Friday, May 17.Â
The PTA will handle postage and mailing—no stamp needed!
Thanks for helping us celebrate our military-connected kids!
